Merrychef in Fashion at Debenhams
7th August 2008
Debenhams is powering new customer restaurant concepts with Merrychef's accelerated cooking technology® following success with The Restaurant/Style Café.
The department store chain has launched The Style Restaurant, a cook to order kitchen. The Merrychef EC401 ensures speed of service for Debenham’s new Take to Table Offer and maintains quick delivery of all fresh snacks made to order.
Brand Equipment Manager for Debenhams, Melanie Oliver, said:
“Accelerated cooking is ideal for quick service restaurants when cooking off hot sandwiches, pizza, pies and pastries. The EC401 cooks a tomato and mozzarella panini to perfection in just one minute and 20 seconds. “When Merrychef demonstrated the EC401 I was amazed at the quality of the food. And our customers vote with their feet, as the cafes and restaurants are increasingly popular. Accelerated cooking allows us to cook on demand, keeping ingredients chilled rather than cooking off larger quantities to keep warm.”
Space is tight when operating a catering unit within a department store and the Merrychef oven sits neatly on the back counter. The EC401 comes with Merrychef’s unique MenuKey technology, enabling quick and easy programming of multiple ovens.
