Ginsters get hot with Merrychef

14th October 2008

MERRYCHEF has joined forces with Ginsters to power a new concept in hot snacks which has seen the stalwart UK snack food operator launch a range of hot takeaway savoury pastries, wraps, bakes and paninis in catering outlets in hospitals, universities and motorway service stations across the UK.

These outlets see a typical high volume customer base with little time to spare, so the emphasis is on providing quality food in fast food times.

Merrychef’s business development manager, Mark Middleton, said: “Ginsters is widening menus with a hot food offering not previously available in these outlets.
“The hot savoury snack range has been an overnight success. The Merrychef 402S cooks fresh food to order in seconds, ideal for hungry, time starved customers.”

Lisa Botterill, Coffee Plus manager at the Royal York hospital, says the 402S has transformed service levels at her coffee shop

“Our queue flow has improved dramatically. In the time it takes customers to collect the rest of their order and pay at the till, hot food items are ready for collection.

“The oven is simple to use with pre-programmed settings ensuring consistent quality.”
