Hospital food never tasted so good

Facilities management expert OCS (One Complete Solution) has invested more than £2.2 million to upgrade catering facilities at the Royal Free Hospital, London.
New OCS own brand catering facilities at the hospital include two Just Deli bars and one Foodhouse restaurant to cater for the 4,600 employees and 700,000 patients and visitors who attend the hospital each year.
Errol Rose, Director of Food Services and Executive Chef at OCS, has developed each menu to cater for the needs of staff, patients and visitors with an emphasis on a wide choice of fresh, nutritious dishes, cooked to order.
“It’s a busy working environment,” said Errol. “Staff have short breaks and visitors don’t want to wait around so quick, flexible, service is essential. We have four Merrychef 402S accelerated cooking ovens enabling us to provide fresh, nutritious dishes from snacks to main meals in minutes.
“We work closely with Merrychef’s development chefs creating new dishes and keeping abreast of the constant developments in accelerated cooking technology. The ovens are pre-programmed so are easy to operate, producing great results at the touch of a button, leaving our staff with time to focus on great customer service.”
